It all just kind of happened ...

I'm not much different than most of you. Worked for years in a number of marketing disciplines and moved from position to position trying to find that balance between making money and having fun. But I didn't find much of either. So, like you, I immersed myself in family, friends, hobbies & sports because they were an escape from the grind.

Home ownership led to a number of home improvement projects that I really enjoyed! When my wife, Linda, gave me permission to turn our basement into "my space", I took my love of the tropics, my passion for sports and my desire for a home bar and turned it into an escape hatch into tiki heaven! See my Belizean Tiki Bar gallery.

Well, the bar needed some stools to fit the tiki theme, and I couldn't find any on the market that were fun, sturdy or that fit my personality. So, of course, I made them. I solicited the art skills of my son and I waded into the world of wood carving. Many mistakes, cuts and slivers later, I created 6 stools that became the pride and joy of my tropical basement bar.

As I customized my new man-cave, I used my art background to create a tiki water fountain (for mood), a hula girl tapper (my bar centerpiece) and an assortment of personalized bar accessories that became my "Belly Up Belizean Bar". Naturally, a web site was created to market some of the fun stuff I created.

It all has lead to this  web site with visitors like you who want to create their own little man-space. Over time, I have made new friends who seem to share some of the following traits:

  • They live to work hard and have fun
  • They enjoy entertaining
  • They enjoy being unique
  • They want to express themselves creatively
  • They take pride in all that they do
  • They have "ideas" ready to burst out
  • They see "do-it-yourself" as a challenge
  • They find inspiration in the creative process
  • They take vacations to enoy new things, great food and renewed spirits

Needless to say, meeting these types of folks keeps life interesting. If you become a customer... GREAT! We will treat you with the respect and customer service that you deserve. If you never buy from us, that's okay. Hopefully we'll get to at least share some of our interests that brought us together in the first place.

Enjoy your time here and the products that you've entrusted us to deliver. Please feel free to share your story with us. Whether it be trying to flesh out a good idea you have or just giving us feeback, we'll both be better for having met. Perhaps we'll get to "belly up" to the bar together sometime.
